The new phone that I buy every 6 months - good or bad?

Yes! I don't know how it happens, I don't know how do I arrange the money, I don't know why do I do it but I do find a hell of reason to do it and I DO IT. I am sure there are many people like me who have fallen prey to this cycle of changing phones. Today I am going to discuss my phone journey in depth and try and find out the underlying reason behind this phenomenon.

From Nokia to Blackberry to iPhone to OnePlus:

Initially I didn't think much when I wanted to change a phone. I just told dad and somehow I would get one. Selling the old one for some cash, add some extra cash and get a new or a second hand phone of some different make. It's just a phone, why do I even need to think about it?

Well, for today's youth, their phone is everything. The Phone is the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night. In fact if you think deeply you spend a LOT of time on your phone looking at that small screen and pressing away.

If you continue at the average of 4 hours per day and live an average lifespan you would have spent approximately 8 years looking at that screen.

What could you not do in 8 years!

Achieve your career ambition?
Earn enough money to buy that car?
Go on your dream vacation?

Is it bad? NO. Phones are meant to make our life easier and better. If one is able to justify the time & energy spent on that phone by achieving something significant then its great. The problem is we just use it to consume Media, we don't use it to produce something. (good topic for another article)

Also slowly we are getting in a situation where we want something new every now and then. We get bored quickly, be it relationships or your cell phone! This is something that needs to be changed and it needs to be changed quickly as it can have serious repercussions on the thinking patterns of the human mind. We need to stabilise, we need to settle at some point and that should be soon.

So from my end I will try to stop buying a new phone every 6 months and restrict on screen time to 2 hours! Let us see where I go with it!

You too try it out!

The Rise

' Ae babu, aur kitna time lagega ?' shouted the waiter, asking him how much time will it take? It was almost 8pm and the Irani cafe was about to close. Robert was sitting and staring at the tea for way too long now. The fan made its slow creaky noise and the yellow mildly-dim lights added to the ambience. Coming to Bombay was one of his best decisions so far, he fell in love with the city the moment he saw it. The loud noise, the rush, the old ambience of the British era buildings, his favourite Irani Cafe and a lot of other things. Two months seemed like a lifetime for him and he was enjoying every moment, one of the reasons being that he spent most of his life in a small town in England, far from the busy city life. 'Bas do minute!' , he shouted back indicating that he shall leave in a couple of minutes. He quickly gulped down his tea, took his mawa cake and left for his house. Robert had taken up an internship at an NGO in Bombay. He had just graduated in Econom...

Talent vs Strategy

If you can strive, bear the pain. You shall succeed, get your gain. If you jump high, you may fall. but in the end dear, ye shall stand tall. Be the flow, of the water. Gentle and sweet, though cutting rocks. Be the arrow of the archer, tearing through the wind loud. Be the beat of the marcher, head up, held high proud. If you can get through emotions, and if you can look beyond. Ye shall see a life so wonderful, the rising tiger would have dawned. It is but far, the shining star. It is but hard, you shall get scarred. Fear not, Strive on. Get up, get going. cast ur spells, use the holy elder wand. Not a day to rest, constant hustle. Go ahead, lift, strain your muscles. Always remember! the golden rule. The law of success, it is the fuel. Followed by his excellency, and all beings majesty. Strategy can compensate talent, talent can never compensate strategy.

The Question, the answer...

Heavenly Father,  What did You think?  What did You perceive?  The silence foregone?  Starlight peeking!  I gaze up at the Heavens,  wonder at Thy creation! I gaze inside,  wonder of Thy restrictions!  All quest; All die.  All strive; All fail.  One simple truth,  Clear as the dew,  Cool as the glacier.  He is me, and I am Him.  You are me, and I am You.  Separated by realms,  one for Eternity.  Love--the question.  Love--the answer.
