Talent vs Strategy

If you can strive, bear the pain. You shall succeed, get your gain. If you jump high, you may fall. but in the end dear, ye shall stand tall. Be the flow, of the water. Gentle and sweet, though cutting rocks. Be the arrow of the archer, tearing through the wind loud. Be the beat of the marcher, head up, held high proud. If you can get through emotions, and if you can look beyond. Ye shall see a life so wonderful, the rising tiger would have dawned. It is but far, the shining star. It is but hard, you shall get scarred. Fear not, Strive on. Get up, get going. cast ur spells, use the holy elder wand. Not a day to rest, constant hustle. Go ahead, lift, strain your muscles. Always remember! the golden rule. The law of success, it is the fuel. Followed by his excellency, and all beings majesty. Strategy can compensate talent, talent can never compensate strategy.

The new phone that I buy every 6 months - good or bad?

Yes! I don't know how it happens, I don't know how do I arrange the money, I don't know why do I do it but I do find a hell of reason to do it and I DO IT. I am sure there are many people like me who have fallen prey to this cycle of changing phones. Today I am going to discuss my phone journey in depth and try and find out the underlying reason behind this phenomenon. From Nokia to Blackberry to iPhone to OnePlus: Initially I didn't think much when I wanted to change a phone. I just told dad and somehow I would get one. Selling the old one for some cash, add some extra cash and get a new or a second hand phone of some different make. It's just a phone, why do I even need to think about it? Well, for today's youth, their phone is everything. The Phone is the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night. In fact if you think deeply you spend a LOT of time on your phone looking at that small screen and pressing away. If you conti

Personal Branding for Students - The Need

In this era of competition there come many an instance where one has to decide between 2 or more people with the same qualifications/talents/skills. Lets look at it from the perspective of an employer or HR personnel. There is a process by which the decision is made; it has the following 2 phases: 1.  Primary Objective Here the technical or domain knowledge of the candidate(s) is tested as this is the primary work to be done and hence it takes the form of a  Primary Objective . This can be related to a technical round for engineering students or showcasing your portfolio or explaining work experience for others.  2.  Secondary Objective Once the primary objective has been achieved and valid demonstration of skills is done then one looks forward to the secondary objective. Now this comprises of the ' Human ' behind the applicant. One can consider this in sync with the HR round. Here basically evaluation is done on aspects related to the overall personality and whet

RIP Alan Rickman

Seldom has it been that a person has had such a profound influence on the lives of not one or two but an entire generation of human beings. "Well, it may have escaped your notice, but life isn't fair" A cherished and profound British theatre actor, Alan redefined acting for a mysterious character, his portrayal of unconditional love searing through the strands of time and lasting for eternity is something magical. To emulate the same on film in the manner it was done is something for which I have no words. He was a part of Harry Potter, a series that touched me and a whole generation in such a way that it is embedded forever in our hearts. And Alan played the role so well, I don't think it was possible for anyone else in this world to do it Justice the same way he did. When I'm 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I'll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, 'After all this time?' And I will say, 'Always.'

The Rise

' Ae babu, aur kitna time lagega ?' shouted the waiter, asking him how much time will it take? It was almost 8pm and the Irani cafe was about to close. Robert was sitting and staring at the tea for way too long now. The fan made its slow creaky noise and the yellow mildly-dim lights added to the ambience. Coming to Bombay was one of his best decisions so far, he fell in love with the city the moment he saw it. The loud noise, the rush, the old ambience of the British era buildings, his favourite Irani Cafe and a lot of other things. Two months seemed like a lifetime for him and he was enjoying every moment, one of the reasons being that he spent most of his life in a small town in England, far from the busy city life. 'Bas do minute!' , he shouted back indicating that he shall leave in a couple of minutes. He quickly gulped down his tea, took his mawa cake and left for his house. Robert had taken up an internship at an NGO in Bombay. He had just graduated in Econom

A life anew

the stars abound, filling the sky. twinkling away, i wonder why. what is our significance? what is our aim? crying over losses, smiling over gains. are we alone? are we frail? The rain pounding along, along with some hail. I wonder at the sadness, why do we have to endure? I wonder at the happiness, why cant life forever? Here I lie, wondering through. slowly to life, bidding adieu.

The TCS conundrum

Being in the final year of engineering I could not get more pissed off as I hear people talking about jobs almost 24x7 around me. Like seriously? We live in a culture in which hapiness in getting a job is so profound that everything else including but not limited to Entrepreneurship sounds meagre. Son (from a PCO or outside the room) : Hello Mom: Hello, haan beta... Kya hua? Son: Maa, TCS! Mom: Kya? (in shock) Son: Haan maan, TCS mein job mil gaya! Mom: Mera bachha! Jaldi aa gharpe (in tears) Like, seriously? This is the state of most of the youth(engineering) in India who get jobs in various MNC's. Those who don't, land up teaching or preparing for some damn kind of entrance exam (even I am doing so, but its justified).  Imagining an entrepreneur is just not possible! Have a look: Son (from anywhere): Hello Mom: Hello, haan beta... kidhar hai? Son: Maan office mein hoon, aaj 100th customer mila! Bohot jald.... (mom interrupts) Mom: Haan acha the
